Agave Nest Logs are made from the flowering poles of the Agave plant, farmed in the Karoo, Graaff-Reinet. The logs naturally make great nests for both wild birds (like Barbets, Woodpeckers, Hoopoes, and Tinkerbirds) and aviary birds (like Budgies and Lovebirds).
The Agave Nest Log has a pre-drilled hole which allows the bird to easily start a nest. The bird will excavate it’s own nest as each bird had different needs, with regards to nest size and shape.
In the second season the nest may often be taken over by Sparrows, Starlings, Kingfishers, and Chats.
